20% vs. 35% Windshield Tint

An Overview Of 20% Windshield Tint

20 Windshield Tint, more popularly known as the 20% windshield tint, is a type of automotive tint film for your car that allows 20% of visible light to enter the vehicle and blocks out the rest.

Specially designed and engineered, this windshield tint reduces the amount of light and heat entering your car. It can block up to 80% of the visible light for improved visibility and safety.

Moreover, as this tint film is on the darker side of the spectrum, it offers enhanced privacy for the users.

One slight drawback of this tint film is that because of its darkness level, it is illegal in most states in the US. Therefore, you need to check with the authorities before installing it on your car.

An Overview Of 35% Windshield Tint

As the name suggests, the 35 Windshield Tint is an automotive tint film that allows 35% of the visible light to pass through the glass while blocking the rest of the lights.

Because it allows a whole lot of visible lights to pass through the 35 windshield tint, or the 35% windshield tint is not as much dark. It creates the perfect balance between privacy and visibility.

However, one slight glitch in this windshield tint is that it cannot block as much heat and UV rays as the darker tints.

Darkness

There is a significant difference in the darkness level between the 20 and 35 Windshield Tint.

For instance, 20 Windshield Tint is incredibly dark for improved privacy and protection. As this tint film allows just 20% visible light to pass through and blocks the rest, it also ensures comfort and convenience.

The 20 Windshield Tint keeps the car cabin cool and comfortable by blocking high heat and UV.

However, the same isn’t true for 35 Windshield Tint. This tinted film isn’t as dark as the 20% one and doesn’t offer as much protection as its competitors.

Moreover, unlike the 20 Windshield Tint, the 35 Windshield Tint can block just 65% of visible light, allowing a whopping 37% of light to enter the windshield.

Legal Restrictions

Even though it might seem a bit unrealistic when it comes to 20 and 35 Windshield Tint, there are some issues with legal restrictions.

20 Windshield Tint is a super dark tint for improved protection and privacy. However, because of its darker appearance, this tint film is not legal or has restrictions in many states.

But the 35 Windshield Tint doesn’t have such issues. As it is much less dark than the 20% tint, it meets legal requirements in most regions and can be used without any difficulties.

Then again, it’s always best to check with the local authorities before installing windshield tints.

Because 20 Windshield Tint offers better visibility, comfort, and privacy, this windshield tint is quite expensive.

On the contrary, the price of 35 Windshield tints is extremely affordable. You don’t have to cut deep into your pocket to install it on your car’s windshield.

But if you ask my opinion, I suggest buying the 20 Windshield Tint because of its benefits. Even though this tint film is a bit expensive, its benefits are fantastic.

If you have the budget and are living in a state where 20 tint is not illegal, go for the 20 Windshield Tint.
